To celebrate the start of summer, we rounded up some of the most refreshing reds, whites, rosés and sparkling wines. All work well for what’s planned, from family barbeques, fancy al-fresco dinners and lazy summer afternoons to raising a glass in remembrance of fallen soldiers whom we thank for our freedom. This might be the world’s least diet-friendly label, but California rosé and fudgy chocolate cake makes a winning combination! Layer Cake’s aromas include passion fruit, pink grapefruit, rose, cranberry and, of course, dark chocolate.

Obvious Wines may be the brainchild of a Frenchman, but the eco-friendly brand is California-based. The brand was featured on Shark Tank. In addition, the straightforward labels provide relevant info to make determining the best fit easy.

The name says it all. This central coast California Grenache and Syrah blend complements sipping in the sunshine.

The grapes for this California wine were well planned to share a similar vibrancy that popular New Zealand style Sauvignon Blancs are known for, pairing beautifully with a summer salad or dishes with a spicy kick.
