If you’re like some of us, you’re STILL shopping for the holidays. No judging, we are here to help. We tapped into our fashion editor, Laura Maged, to find out what style pieces she’s gifting and desiring this holiday season. Here, her latest holiday style gift guide.
Leather pants are the perfect winter wardrobe staple, but you don’t need to overspend! Many companies make vegan or “pleather” alternatives and multiple styles. You can go with a jogger style or a classic jean-cut. They are perfect for day-to-night dressing and outdoor dining (when it’s back). Also loving this option from Intermix. Click here.
Bleusalt is a company in Malibu that makes year-round and sustainable super soft clothing. One of my favorites on this holiday style gift guide, the 1 yard scarf is an amazing gift for men or women, comes in 10 colors and its natural fabric derives from the Beechtree.
When outdoor dining makes a comeback (fingers crossed), a vest is the perfect gift. Knit vests are totally trending plus they’re a great-looking and practical outerwear layer for all outdoor activities. Especially dining since it’s a more comfortable layer. Put a vest on your gift lists for men or women. Check out these other fab vests I love.
Long Faux leather vest, Zara; $90
Faux leather puffer vest, Zara; $50
Sonia Carrasco knit striped top, Shopstyle; $257
Yves Salomon Mongolian shearling vest, Intermix; $598
Men’s reversible vest in Sherpa, Theory; $395
Lightweight boiled wool long vest in responsible wool, Eileen Fisher; $298
Festive Holiday Pants
One of my style tricks has always been to wear dressy pants balanced with just a graphic t-shirt or big chunky cardigan or sweater. I love pants and they are much warmer then a dress or skirt so I would try some sequin pants for a festive yet versatile item this season.
Comfortable feet is always the way to go. With more people working from home and entertaining at home (albeit minimally), it’s time for a silver lining. Ditch work shoes, leather boots or rigid loafers for something plush! I’m not taking about slippers—these are the best bet for inside or outside. Here, fabulous options for the man (love these ankle boots), woman or teen on your list.
Cloud lavender grey slippers, Roam Wears; $130
Shearling Moc Clog, JenniKayne; $375
I’m always on a quest for fun sneakers and if ever there was a time to skip the heels and finish your look with sneakers – this would be the year! Sneakers can be worn anywhere and everywhere if you “step up” your game from your old running shoes to some fashionable styles, like these unisex from Moisés Nieto. And more…
My personal quest this season is for a great coat that is oversized but not too bulky. Statement coats, like this chic fringe one are trending this year as we spend a lot of time outside but I wouldn’t overspend as there are so many options and next year we are all going to want to shed the layers and be free! Adore this classic style too.
I pretty much wear a beanie hat and long fingerless gloves from October to April. They also make the perfect gifts—like this clever one—and the variety is endless. From kitschy sayings (like this) to furry or fleecy. They really do make winter dressing more exciting.
For the Pet Lover
For any friend or pet loving human, you can put the actual photo of someone’s pet face onto socks. This makes a great stocking stuffer or night of Hanukkah gift. It’s totally cheesy, but I ordered these for my kids and I have to admit I think they are pretty funny and sweet.
