This is big. And exciting. Plus potentially life-transforming. That is, if you love having fresh flowers displayed at home but never knew how to arrange them.
DIY flower arranging
To clarify, it’s no secret that our entertaining editor and How2Girl Courtney Sixx is obsessed with flowers and flower arranging. She is forever sharing her designs, tricks and tips on these pages. Now, she’s giving us a peek at Bouquet Box, the DIY floral arranging system she created. Bouquet Box allows you to arrange amazing bouquets yourself. But don’t worry. She’s not leaving you to figure it out alone.
What is Bouquet Box
Courtney teamed with top celebrity florist Mark Held of Mark’s Gardens—think the Oscars Governors Ball, the Golden Globes as well as countless other celebrity events like weddings for Justin and Hayley Bieber and Ellen DeGeneres to Portia DeRossi to name a few, baby showers, birthday parties and more—to co-design a series of A-list inspired arrangements. “When I received my first Mark’s Garden arrangement, I nearly fell off my chair. It was so stunning. And then another arrangement came from them and I could not believe how fabulous it was,” Courntey explains. “I was lucky enough to work with them for my wedding after that and I knew when we started Bouquet Box that there was no one else I wanted to design the lines with than them. Thankfully they agreed!”
With the designs complete, Courtney provides the simple steps and processes to arrange them in a series of photo how-tos and video tutorials.
World class details
It’s been a project that’s been three plus years in the making with research and testing that has taken the Bouquet Box team from L.A. to New York, Reno and Miami as well as across the globe from Denmark to Shanghai, Bogota, Medellin and Quito to name a few—and if not by plane then by countless Zoom meetings, telephone calls, emails and more. “We have searched for every detail. From the perfect farms to ensure the best quality farm fresh flowers and sustainable production. To the best delivery partners, manufacturing colleagues and distribution networks. And as important as the most beautiful flowers are, customer service is key to our success too,” says Courtney.
The company launched February 1st, extending shopping to their email list of subscribers only and opened to the general public the next day. “We are offering a few ways to use Bouquet Box—from subscriptions for monthly deliveries and seasonal deliveries to individual orders as well,” says Courtney who understands people have varying levels of confidence in flower arranging and budgets. And she is as excited about the designs as she is about the simplicity of arranging them. “I am thrilled and amazed how easily we break down the process and make it accessible to people. Especially since the price point is so amazing,” she continues. By dealing directly with the farms, Bouquet Box is able to keep costs down and quality and longevity way up.
Plus, she says, the Welcome Box arrives just prior to the first flower delivery, filled with custom tools and a reusable vase. Used for each arrangement build, this kit cuts down on waste, space and the need to hunt for the perfect pieces. Check out the photos here and visit bouquetbox.com to order yours now. Practically the only thing better than these gorgeous celebrity-inspired arrangements displayed at home, is that you made them yourself.
